How to operate drone cleaning operations and airspace applications? -- Here's an article with answers
With the development of drone technology in China, drones are increasingly used in areas such as high-rise cleaning. MYUAV, an industry leader, offers an innovative solution for aerial cleaning with its FC dual tethered aerial cleaning UAV powered by ground water.
However, when operating with this type of equipment, it is essential that airspace is lawfully claimed and used.
Therefore, many users have asked whether they should apply for airspace when cleaning operations. How to apply for airspace?
1.When do I need to apply for airspace?
1. Flight area factors:
▶ Within the flying zone of 120 meters: Unmanned aircraft flying in the flying airspace below the true height of 120 meters, no application is required.
(Add: What does 120 meters really mean?)
True height refers to the vertical height of the aircraft from a reference level (mostly refers to the ground), which is the height of the UAV to the ground (including the mountain ground), and the surface of the building does not belong to the ground (as shown below).
▶ In the flying zone above 120 meters: For commercial use or specific tasks (such as super high-rise building cleaning), if you need to operate in the airspace above the true height of 120 meters, you also need to apply for airspace and obtain the corresponding flight permit.
▶ In the controlled airspace (regardless of altitude) (such as around airports, military restricted areas, important revolutionary memorial sites, etc.), regardless of the type and size of the UAV, it must apply for flight to the relevant air traffic control authority in advance and obtain permission to fly.
(Note: You can check the restricted flight area on https://fly-safe.dji.com/nfz/nfz-query)
2. How to apply for airspace?
To apply for a UAV airspace, please visit the Civil Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UOM) website (https://uom.caac.gov.cn).
On the "Operation Management" page, click the "Airspace Information Query" function item. When the target area is located, it is not necessary to report the green area below 120 meters, and it is necessary to apply for airspace flight above 120 meters. White areas, all need to apply for flight airspace, otherwise it belongs to black flight.
Click "Flight Activity Application" to go to the application page.
